    Default PermaFlow P Trap

Anyone ever actually saw one of these things in a home? Creative, but of questionable value. I guess someone may benefit from it.

The only link which may matter ... does not work.

I wonder what "approvals" they have for that contraption?

I am referring to this link under 'Associations':

    http://www.pfwaterworks.net/www.iapmo.org

That link goes to a dead end, because the link is wrong.

That link probably should be IAPMO Group

But being a member of it does not mean the device is approved by it.

I am surprised they were able to get that thing listed.

In Illinois that trap does not meet the plumbing code. The code does not allow any movable parts.

    Section 890.410 Fixture Traps/Continuous Waste
    d) Type of Traps. Traps shall have a uniform and smooth interior, and shall have no partitions or movable parts. The trap seal shall be non-adjustable.

    From their web site:

PermaFLOW™ enhances the quality of your indoor environment and improves the long-term performance of your property, providing a significant value to the owner, the community and our environment.

Wow, all from replacing my P-traps....

Apparantly none of you have any shall we say "shedding" problems,, Seems like a better idea than calling rotorooter every 3 months

That's what "strainers" are for ... and MUCH cheaper than calling RotoRooter OR those improper traps.
