Default AM I MISSING SOMETHING HERE

    HEY ALL
first off happy holidays, i'm off to phoenix for some golf over the holidays and some captain morgan and diet pepsi.maybe lots

came across this combo roof today on a million dollar home. is it me or is there something missing here. or will there be a river running thru the ridge line on this roof. of course permit pulled but no FINAL INSPECTION.

i wrote it up and recommended roofer be called to evaluate. didn't see any attic damage, but attic area was limited.

    thanks for your replies

    happy holidays

Looks like the membrane should go over the top of the shingles.

The cap flashing (I'm not sure of the exact term) has not been applied. It can/will be applied and sealed to the membrane roof, but it should not have been left that way.

But on a more serious matter,

There are two possibilities here, either the "gravel stop" flashing has been omited and the water is drianing under the shingles on the underlay or there is a "gravel stop" flashing installed and somebody has installed shingles on them to cover it. The flashing should be "roofed into" the membrane on the flat roof and extend down the sloped roof.
