    Default Pressure treated sill plate

Does anyone know when sill plates were required to be pressure treated?

When caveman discovered fire and started using tar pits to protect his wood from getting wet???

I don't know, but it was a very long time ago.

R319 still just requires naturally decay resistant wood or pressure treated.

I start seeing pressure treated sill plates by about the mid 60's I believe-- could be wrong.
