    Default Combustion air intake location

Is this air intake location acceptable?

Its a cantilevered section of the house with a porch extending out.

    I don't see a problem with it.

Depends on if it serves as the intake to a direct vent appliance, if so it should be located in the same area as the exhaust.

This intake is for a high efficiency direct vent furnace.
The intake is located at the front and the exhaust is at the rear.

I have never seen separate locations like that before. Are there specs available to show the requirement for co locating these?

The manufacturer of the system would be the source. All of the ones I have seen offer diagrams of just how the vents are to be installed.
