    Default Here's one for the defect photo album...

    This was one issue among many at this water heater. There was still a gas company red tag hanging on the water heater form 2000 saying it should not be used until properly installed.

    Yeah, I know... too picky.

    I guess the lack of a water shut-off valve and equipment bond wasn't important enough for the DIY'er to install either.

    Aside from the venting, I like the crushed copper flex coming off the hot. Nice touch.

    Keep the fire in the fireplace.

    Bob, that's not a crushed copper flex line. That's a pressure reducing valve.

    Yeah, pressure reducer! I couldn't remeber the name for that kind of valve!

    Not pictured:

    No drain pipe at TPR vlave
    No pan w/drain (heater sitting in dead center of house)
    Combustible clearance issues in attic
    Combustion air was limited
