If there is no secondary drain overflow shut-off wired in, do you guys write it up? If you do, as a repair or recommandation?
    Thanks,

    Matt,

    That depends...

If the secondary drain pan has a drain line, is properly plumbed and is run to a conspicious locations... no. No shut off switch required-- nice to have, but not required.

    Thanks Richard,

    Let me ask you this,

Does having a shut off switch if there is no proper secondary drain pan provided meet the code that requires proper secondary drain? or still need to be reported as in need of repair?

There can be either a cut off switch in the secondary drain pan or a drain line ... or both ... but there must be one or the other of them installed.
