    Default Gap at siding transition

    What type of trim should be at this gap between the old aluminum siding and wood siding above the trim board?

    Do they make a type of J channel or similar?

    It looks like "Z" trim could work.

    I agree with James; the piece would most likely have to be custom made to fit correctly and be installed before the metal siding is put on.

    It looks like it would be a perfect install if the Z-metal flashing were there. The problem is usually in the other direction... getting the installer to leave the gap at the lower edge of the siding rather than just installing it tight.
