    Default Lunar Eclipse

Who caught sight of the lunar eclipse tonight? It was very awesome to see. We had a great clear sky here and several of us in the neighborhood sat out in the back yard and watched it.

I caught the beginning of it at about 1:45 and the end of it around 4:45. Wish I'd gotten up at 3 to take a look.

My wife set the alarm for 3:00am to watch it but I couldn't tear myself from my slumber so she was on her own. She said it looked really neat.

I saw a solar eclipse back in the early 90s. It was 1:00pm and a clear day but the eclipse made it look like it was between dusk and dark.

We had overcast, stayed in bed. Glad I'm not superstitious. That looks like a bad moon arisin'.

I had planned to get up, but we had cloudy and drizzle, so I slept.

This is from the Peabody (Kansas) Gazette-Bulletin, so it must be true:

"The next total lunar eclipse visible in North America will be April 14 and 15, 2014. The next total lunar eclipse on the winter solstice will be Dec. 21, 2094."

The skies here seemed to open up just for the event, it was amazing.

I woke my 5 year old up (who is totally into astronomy) and we checked in on it very 15 minutes (and warmed up in the house in between).

    Great event!

I watched it here. Set out with my dog. She didn't seem to care much though. She just wanted me to scratch her back.
I wish I had a good Camera that would take the great pictures of it. I have a Canon put didn't have any 1000 film for it. Great to watch as I won't be around for the next. And it to be on the first night of the winter
    Solstice. Something to see.
