Default Can anyone ID this particular insulation?

I see this type of insulation all the time and have thought it to be cellulose based. not sure though.

Was told the house was built in 1980; however, I believe it to be in the 50's

    Thanks for your prying eyes!

I thought that it was, but I've also seen some more current cellulose and wondered if maybe I'd been wrong all this time.

    thanks!

A torch is the one tool I have never thought of bringing on an inspection.

What does cooked insulation taste like. I may have to grill some up. Definitely 0 grams of fat. Healthy heart food.

I recommend your helper wear some welder's mitts for the initial test at least.

JB, it's not a dumb question. What I call cellulose comes in a lot of varieties. Some of the newer shredded paper stuff has colors from the magazines they must throw in there. The old stuff looks like dusty sheeps' wool.

I brought some wood fibre insulation home one time and gave it the torch test. This was the brick colored wood shavings. I couldn't get it to burn.

Its hard to sort out all the colored ads from the paper. They try to avoid magazines. Years ago when demand was lower it was uncirculated newprint and you didnt have the colored inserts.
