    Default CSST through wall

I came across a CSST line run through a chimney. The installer wrapped the pipe with some electrical tape before filling the hole with cement around it. Is this an acceptable "cushion"? Thanks in advance.

Should be sleeved and correctly fire stopped

I go directly to the manufacturer when I see suspect installlations such as this one. See Sections 4.3.8 and 4.3.9 for installation requirements (link below). In short: No, eletrical tape is not an adequate alternative to a compliant sleeve. Also, the CSST may not be routed through a chimney chase, IRC G2415.1 prohibits this.

I hope this helps. I have been hesitant about joining in because sometimes legitimate posts, good questions and good answers get beat up beyond recognition. (Fingers crossed)
