    Default Return air in bathroom

    1st time in ever seeing the return air for the entire house located in the bathroom. Is this acceptable by code??? Thank You

    Not acceptable, no. In the 2006 IRC it's M1602.2 Prohibited Sources.

    No returns allowed in bathrooms.

    I'm curious...is there reasoning behind that other than the obvious...room too small, frequently closed, moisture, proximity to exhaust fan/duct, introduction of flatulence into the public rooms.... ?

    Hairspray and other aerosols can damage the heat exchanger in the furnace is what I was taught.
