    Yep...the way that is configured qualifies it as an "S" trap. The trap arm (the horizontal run) should basically be level with, and joined to, the connection into the wall (hopefully that is a vented sanitary tee). It doesn't look like they could accomplish that without cutting into the base of the cabinet to accommodate the trap. An AAV, and some re-working of the drain piping might be the best solution.
