    Well, the bottom cast iron part is the main plumbing vent. Actually, it's the only plumbing vent.

    They were not live.

    I never saw where they terminated. The selling agent called the owner, and he said he had been planning on installing some solar equipment on the roof, and that's what the cables were for. He is using the only plumbing vent as a chase/conduit.

    When he told the agent that the wires were not live, she said "That's OK, then, right?", and I, of course, said, "No, I'm afraid not".
