Best way is to carry some water in a bottle and fill the reservoir. Sometimes I can jiggle the pump enough that it starts with the water that is already in it. Not always lucky though. Check that the over flow switch is connected to the airhandler/compressor to stop condensation in the event of failure.

The beatings will continue until morale has improved. mgt.

I use a standard 1/2 liter water bottle (common plastic drinking water bottle) and sometimes you need to fill it twice. The pump reservoir is small and likely has water in it already.

Pour water in, and observe the results.

Make sure to also check overflow safety switch (if it has one). if missing recommend HO to contact HVAC company and have them install one (btw its required on all new installations)
