How far away from a house is a safe distance for a gas fire pit with a 2'6 inside pit area?

If the gas fire pit is a listed unit, it should state the distance in the installation instructions.

If the gas fire pit is not a listed unit ... it is required to be a listed unit, so don't install it.

If it is is not a listed unit and you install it anyway - WHICH YOU SHOULD NOT DO - install it at least as far away as unlisted open flame items, such as Hibachi grills and other similar grills and devices for charcoal/wood/etc ... the minimum clearance for those units is 10 feet from any part of any structure - BUT ... it should be a listed unit or do not install it.
