    Default a/c filter

My a/c turned black within a week, both sides equally blackened. It appears to be a very fine dust. Any ideas?

Is it a new system? Is it a new home? Is there a sulphur smell in the home? Has there been recent construction in the home? Has there been recent construction on the street/road?

We need a lot more background and maybe photos.

This is on the filter, correct?

OK, I will assume this is the filter we are talking about.

Do you have an ozone air cleaner that you are running?
    Do you burn candles?
Do you have a gas fireplace?
    Are you a bad cook?

Let us know and if you have any photos that will help....
