    I inspected this home last summer. I ran the unit for 2 hours and measured a constant 17.5 degree drop. The unit was manufactured by Goodman in 1997. Something more than a "weed eater" was chewing on the aluminum.

    This can be confirmed with a tape measure of the resident DLL (Dog leg lift).

    I agree it looks like a dog has been there. I bet the insulation at the refrigerant line is also missing or chewed up.

    You are correct; the suction line was boxed in with concrete blocks. The home was part of an estate, had been vacant for several months. No dogs at the time of the inspection but reported the damage appeared to have been dog related.
