    The splattering sounds I heard in the finished basement while upstairs with the shower running in the 1st floor bathroom was the first giveaway.

    That's one of those new "rain-head light fixtures". As long as there's a floor drain in the basement, it's ok for rental accommodations. .

    This is comical in a way and although very obvious for the homeowner/inspector/realtor . . (whomever), it may have not been called out prior to the closing (assumption on my part) if it weren't for the home inspector.

    Water cooled, recessed lamp. They're very common.
