Default radon testing vote in senate for colorado

to all who live in states that have manditory radon testing for any residential real estate transaction

the state of colorado is going to vote 0n 2/23--to make it mandatory for any home sale to have the seller do a radon test before they sell house. this could be good news for all and for home inspectors--but could be a headache--don't need that--but it also states that all testers and mitigators be certified and mitigators licensed. i am certified

can anyone who now lives in an area that already has this law tell me what --ramification this had on you

1] did the state regulate what you can charge
2] did the state require any further certification then ESA--OR TRAINING

    3] DO YOU LIKE THIS

i am the director of education for my colorado chapter and want to know what to tell my members

    thanks

    Charlie,

I currently hold a Radon Testing Certification in PA. PE DEP # 2080

Since Radon first came on the scene as recognized in PA, they (PA) were one of the first states to require licensing of Radon Testers and Mitigators.

    New Jersey is more stringent.

    For your questions....
    - PA does not set the pricing of Radon testing and/or mitigation.
    - CEU is required at 16 hours every 2 years (multiple options / venues for CEU)
    - I have been licensed for over 10 years in PA and find the program to be workable. I have no complaints.

If Colorado were to model from PA DEP Radon Division, you would have no problems...
