FORT WORTH (WBAP 24/7 NEWS) - Fort Worth police and fire investigators onMonday were looking into the electrocution of a man who was trimming treesbehind a home in the Meadowbrook neighborhood.

911 dispatchers received a call at about 9:30 a.m. and "the firstarriving units did find a deceased male," said FWFD Lt. Carol Jones."He was belted into the tree," she said.

The Fort Worth fire department was on scene at 11 a.m., waiting for Oncor to shut off power to the street so rescuers could safely retrieve the man's body from the tree where he died.

The victim, identified only as a 23-year-old man, owned a tree-trimmingbusiness and had been hired to cut branches in the back yard of a home onWarren Lane. His equipment touched a power line and he was electrocuted. Aco-worker witnessed the accident and called for help.

Lt. Jones said the lesson from the tragedy is clear: "Electricity isdangerous," she told WBAP. "You really need to be aware of yoursurroundings and watch what you're doing."
