Outlet spacing

This is in a condo/hotel (the hyatt). Not really sure how to classify it This is in a bedroom and this wall is missing an outlet. The distance between the outlet on the adjoining wall and opposing wall is about 11ft. Does this wall require an outlet.

- 210.60 Guest Rooms, Guest Suites, Dormitories, and Similar Occupancies.
- - (A) General. Guest rooms or guest suites in hotels, motels, sleeping rooms in dormitories, and similar occupancies shall have receptacle outlets installed in accordance with 210.52(A) and 210.52(D). Guest rooms or guest suites provided with permanent provisions for cooking shall have receptacle outlets installed in accordance with all of the applicable rules in 210.52.
- - (B) Receptacle Placement. In applying the provisions of 210.52(A), the total number of receptacle outlets shall not be less than the minimum number that would comply with the provisions of that section. These receptacle outlets shall be permitted to be located conveniently for permanent furniture layout. At least two receptacle outlets shall be readily accessible. Where receptacles are installed behind the bed, the receptacle shall be located to prevent the bed from contacting any attachment plug that may be installed or the receptacle shall be provided with a suitable guard.

So, measure out the minimum number required based on the spacing in 210.52(A), then place that minimum number anywhere desired to go with the furniture layout ... ... a receptacle outlet is not required on that wall.

In Guest rooms or guest suites in hotels,motels you use 210.52 (A) to determine the number of outlets required in the room,BUT You use 210.60(B) to place them.

Confused ?

Section 210.60(B) permits the receptacles in guest rooms /guest suites in hotels/motels to
be placed in accessible locations that are compatible with permanent furniture placement.

However the number of receptacles required by 210.52 (A) & (D) is not allowed to be reduced
You calculate the minimum number of receptacles required by using the rules in 210.52 as if there is no furniture in the room.
Once you know the minimum number of receptacles you then place them based on the permanent furniture lay out.
