I'll test the receptacle side of that device, and ignore/disclaim (yes, 2 dirty words) the USB/HDMI/low voltage outlets.

I don't touch them and if someone were to push me on this I'd simply say that I'm neither trained nor equipped to do so. I don't have much trouble playing stupid on a particular topic, as soon as people know that they figure I could be a wealth of wrong info and they drop the issue.

I tell clients that low voltage systems are not a safety concern and are not inspected. Not to mention, do you really want to add twenty minutes to your inspection testing cable, phone, and USB or HDMI connections when they aren't any kind of safety concern? I realize that most of us note holes in walls and damaged doors, etc, but you can see those through the normal course of your inspection without doing any extra motions.

Fortunately low voltage systems are excluded by my State's S.O.P.s. The way electronics are progressing into our lives I am thankful for that exclusion.

Low voltage is exclueded in my states SOP as well. I think I have only seen two of them and that was just a few weeks ago in a highend condo high-rise.
