    Default Splices in Carrier furnace

    New home. Is this acceptable?

    Besides the lack of a connector, what is the wiring method?

    Does this look different than other gas furnaces you have seen to raise the question?

    All answers based on unamended National Electrical codes.

    The missing bushing around the power cord at the penetration into the cabinet is one. Other than that I was curious above the splices. The splices are dedicated to a UV air cleaner and steam humidifier. Do they need to be housed in an external junction box or does the cabinet of the furnace serve as a box.
