    What is the name of the round disc in the center of a coil surface element for an electric range?

    On Jenn Air cooktops it's called a medallion I believe.

    The one in your photo is part of the element coil, and is attached to the stand-off.

    On other (older) models, that may have been a thermostat, but not on that one.
