    Default GFCI location

    There was a GFCI outlet located within 6" of a sink. As long its a GFCI, is this an okay location?

    Regardless, I think its a dumb location.

    Yes, 6" is kinda close but if GFCI it's acceptable.

    In a situation like this how is 6" any different from 12"?
