    Default Furnace installed in Attic

Sorry no pic, but inspected a home today that had a side mounted furnace in the attic space. That is not out of the ordinary, but the unit was supported by 4x4s with not other means of support. I'm used to seeing these installs with strapping of some sort to the truss webs. Is this type of installation allowed?

Hanging from the trusses can reduce noise, but they sometimes are on the attic floor.
