Default kitchen cooktop island- elec outlet placement- Florida

Can someone give me the code for electric outlet placement on a cooktop island...I am in Pinellas County Fl.
    Island is 76.5" long - 28.5" deep
    countertop behind cooktop is 6"
there is 19.5" of countertop on each side of the cooktop.
My understanding is that the cooktop divides the countertop creating 2 separate countertop spaces. Just not sure what that means regarding where the outlets should be placed.
    Thank you.

Is this rule is applicable for whole US or some part of a USA? I am planning to buy a kitchen cooktop for my home.

Many areas use this, but not all.
Some building inspection departments use a different code
Some have modifications to the code

Check with your local building inspections department to see what code in in effect for your area.

You say you are in Florida, the 2008 NEC applies here in Florida.

That code section is just one of many which may apply to what you are planning on doing - you did not provide much information (only that you are planning on buying a cooktop).
