    Default Kitchen Cabs above range

I thought I saw somewhere a code section that describes the distance of kitchen cabinets above a range. Anyone see this or know the section/book?

    In NJ, It's M1901.1

Freestanding or built-in ranges shall have a vertical clearance above the cooking top of not less than 30 inches...

Depends on what the cabinets are made out of.

If combustible material, i.e., wood, then 30" minimum ... however, that is the minimum, some appliances require a greater clearance height above them.
