Default Framing supports under roof rafters

Any thoughts on these. House built in 08. These look like temp supports used while framing the rafters.

Had a hard time with the image, but it does look like there is a ridge beam and the vertical 2x s do not serve any structural purpose. Why they ere used and then left behind is a good question other than just lazy. Frankly don't understand what problem they were having with the rafters that caused them to use the 2x in the first place. Will have to scratch my head a little for that answer.

It's unconventional for sure. The framing is lacking collar ties. I'd call it out for that alone.

Substantial rafter size. Not sure collar ties are required.

I agree with Raymond, the rafters appear to have "plenty-o-size" for the diagonal. I'm guessing these were installed to use the strong rafters to support under sized ceiling joist, or ceiling joist which were weekend by removing (or moving) bearing walls. If this is the case, another bad idea.
