    Anybody know the age of a Payne Gas Pack Serial # LBMCH 21489 ? Looks to be original, house was mid 70's.

    That doesn't look like any Payne serial number I've ever seen. Was it a Carrier subset bach then?

    It doesn't seem to match any of the serial number codes on that site. I would write it up as appears to be past it's economic life and have a licensed HVAC contractor perform a CO test and servicing. I would srongly recommend to your clients that regardless, it should be replaced with a more efficient unit.
