    Default Large conductor taps

I haven't run into these before. I am guessing they are OK as they appear to be manufactured for this and are stamped CU/AL.

Feeder taps are in article 240.21(B)(1) through (5).

I've never seen anything like this, wonder if these taps were listed for this, or designed for ground conductors?

Tap isn't on service side is it?

They are fine used within the proper size range of the conductors they are listed for. They can be used for grounded or ungrounded conductors.

OCP would need to be provided at the remote end of the tap. The tap would also nned to meet the rules for taps.

I can't decern the size of the tap conductors but it appears that size requires a bushing on the connector (side). Yes, non metallic requires bushings also and have seen the damage done w/o.
This type of tapping device is prone to issues especially with Al. if anti-oxhide compound is not used.
Wire bending space and amount the conductors being bent may be an issue as well.
