Thumbs up Re: Basis for Establishing Inspection Fees

Some of you have mentioned the Cost Of Business program.

Here are a few things to think about.
    • Is your pricing primarily based on your competition (the biggest mistake made)?
    • Do you know how to calculate a real fee schedule. One that produces a profit?
    • Is your head in the sand ignoring this most important part of your business?
    • Are you running a business or just working way to hard for yourself?
Do you really think your competition has taken the time to calculate a fee schedule that is best for you? Then why do you base your fees on theirs?

    business
"a usually commercial or mercantile activity engaged in as a means of livelihood"
    livelihood
"means of support due to profit"
    profit
"the compensation accruing to entrepreneurs for the assumption of risk in business enterprise"

If you are not earning a profit that will take care of your livelihood
then you are not running a "business".

Purchasing the Cost Of Business also helps to support InspectionNews and InspectionNews members get a $25 discount (the $25 discount is only good for the next 7 days. Uses code in070130 at checkout).

Amen to that Brian. If you're not making a decent living plus putting some away for down-times in a slow market, paying your E&O deductable when you get sued, in the event you're injured, and for your eventual retirement you don't have a job, you have a hobby.
