    Default upside down hose bib

Doesn't this kind of defeat the freeze resistant design?

That wasn't installed upside down, that was made downside up.

It's not the Bib, it's the house that was built up-side-down.

It looks like it could have a long stem to keep the seat in a warmer area and that before a freeze, you loosen the bottom cap to drain it down. Just guessing.

    Efficient, to say the least.
C'mon guys (and girls), we all know you need 'a good vent' for proper drainage, right? That's so you can open the bib to drain, and verify an 'open vent' before the freeze season, all from the same location!

You make perfect sense to me. All of my experience has been in the Southern California region so we don't see these hose bibs on the coast. Thanks for posting. Loren Sr.
