    Not listed for electrical usage.

    Not secured properly.

I suspect the cable was stripped to allow the egc to exit the sleeve which would be another violation.

May need a disconnect depending on where the panel is.

Or a breaker lockout device installed at the breaker, again, depending on where the panel is in relation to where the water heater is.

    Cory,

Besides everything Jim said, the difference between plumbing PVC and electrical PVC is that plumbing PVC is pressure rated at a specified temperature, electrical PVC is not only not pressure rated, the inside is presumed to be a wet location when the PVC is in a wet location (as is the same with all electrical conduits/raceways) and electrical PVC is also fire resistant to the extent required during the listing testing whereas plumbing PVC typically has water in it and does not need to be fire resistant rated, Just a couple of the differences between the two types of PVC pipe (plumbing)/conduit (electrical).

I now see that there is Greenfield in the sleeve. I doubt there is a bushing on the end inside the PVC to prevent abrasion on the conductors.

That was a LOT of work considering that it does not meet codes and I would consider it dangerous. Must be a LONG way to a big box store?
    ROFL.
It is just so much easier to do the job correctly than to design and manufacture a system on site.
