    Clay,

    It kind of looks to me like the piers provide support and the stone veneer is acting as a skirting, rather than supporting the structure. But, it is difficult to tell. What size beam is that above the OSB?

    Have to agree with Gunnar on his comment about it appearing to be more like "skirting" instead of a perimeter beam wall.

    Being that your in Lousiana, the termites will have a buffet on that OSB someday.

    No termite shields on the skirting wall or on the piers.

    Clay,

    Let me guess. This is the same house that has the "crappy" masonry work outside that you posted elsewhere. The workmanship here is lousy, loose stone and open joints. Let's hope it's just decorative - not good for much else. Let's see, what did I say before? Oh yeah, unprofessional. I don't hesitate to put that in my reports.
