Default Let me count the ways that this is wrong!

I stopped counting how many things were wrong with this find at an inspection today. We have issues with the water heater, HVAC, condensation removal, and the pipe that was used!

Does the water heater have the proper nipples at the connections?
The whole condensate pump and TPR overflow piping is laughable.
Is the pump wired to thermostat circuit?
Is this a garage? Soft ducts?
    Drip pan?

I'll look more later, I'm going for another beer.

TPR drain line to a condensate pump.......gotta say that I've never seen that.

If you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice.

You have to admire the effort: A trap in the T&P drain line.

The beatings will continue until morale has improved. mgt.

Give the guy some credit. That is a work of art. Something you would see at a craft fair. He spent more time putting that pipe in than if he did it correctly.

Scott, that is a whole house steam system for bed bug elimination. Great shot!

Any chance we could wire the condensate pump to 220v so we could keep up with the T & P flow ?

No need, the trap is there to slow the flow.

Dear God -- just when you think you've seen it all, someone jumps up w/ some innovation. Along w/ the other flaws mentioned. 1) no trap on the AC 2) If the garage or mechanical room where the AH is - is a fire rated room (IE 1/2" drywall) the flex duct can not penetrate the drywall.
