Default Sill plate has space/gap underneath.....

A 12' section of sill plate sitting on top of a poured concrete foundation has a gap underneath, about 1/4 inch with load bearing joists on it with no sagging, how can this be?

There is a section for questions from home owners, DIYers, etc. - that is where you should post this, and, use your real name here ... well ... only if you want real answers ...
