Default Rubber-like Cladding - Anyone seen this in Colorado?

108 yr. home that has this (for lack of a better description) rubber coating for a cladding. Can anyone shed any light on what this is?

    Thanks.

The photo is not very clear. It looks like painted stucco, but from your description I assume it was soft?

Just a guess but I have seen acrylic polymer-based EIFS finishes on almost every substrate.

It's probably some type of elastomeric covering applied over stucco. Tex-Cote is a well known brand and has been around for decades.

Could be liquid vinyl paint, or 'permacoat'.
