    Default Door width

The minimum door width (bedroom to bathroom) is 36" , correct? Not 24"?
I haven't yet found it in the code book, any one know off the top of your head?

    thanks!

Minimum EXIT (typically the "front") door is 36". I typically see 2'8" (32") interior doors. I don't remember a minimum interior door width though. 24" seems a bit small.

Yes, a 36" bathroom door would qualify for handicapped access, but not needed for normal access.

Our ensuite bathroom has a very narrow pocket door, could be 24", house built in 1983.

I posted the code on another thread - side hinged doors, such as is required for the required egress door, are required to be 36 inch doors.

Other egress doors (such as from interior spaces) are exempt from the dimensions (but not exempt from the side hinged requirement).
