Golden Rules for Living by Miriam Hamilton Keare (and edited by me).

1. If you open it, close it. (Put the dead-front cover back)

2. If you turn it on, turn it off. (Turn off the swimming pool light)

3. If you unlock it, lock it up. (Lock the sliders and doors on the way out)

4. If you break it, admit it. (Is that your foot dangling through the ceiling?)

5. If you value it, take care of it. (Don’t leave your computer next to the air gap)

6. If you make a mess, clean it up. (Clean up the attic insulation from the floor when you remove your ladder)

7. If you move it, put it back. (Sofas, refrigerators, chairs, exercise equipment)

8. If you don't know how to operate it, leave it alone. (Why do they make so many thermostats?)
