    Default Refrigerant line protection at studs and top plates

    Does the IRC require refrigeration lines to be protected where they pass through studs and top plates (similar to the protection required for NM wiring)?

    IRC Section M1308.2 says yes.

    To add to James 'yes' ... the protection if closer to that required for plumbing pipes than for NM cable.
