    Default Classic

I thought this was classic. The home had been inspected before and this was not noticed.

And it's such a nice, clean installation too. Generally, when flue installations are wrong, they are sloppy as well, which draws attention to the faults.

Tape on the flue pipe is the first sign that the installer (and I use that term loosely) didn't know what they were doing. No tape on flue pipes.

This was a 28 yr od water heater that some homeowner raised off the garage floor. little did he know that in his effort to prevent a possible disaster, he created one. The seller had lived there for 3 years and he said it was like that when he bought it and he had it inspected with no mention of the issue. That furnace also was an induced draft type so they were likely getting double the CO when the furnace was on. Good thing it was in the garage.
