Furnace vent installation
Is the angle and horizontal run incorrect?

Re: Furnace vent installation
Looks like it runs downhill to me, and it should slope uphill.
Also looks to run too far horizontally for the total height run.
Looks kinda like someone wanted it to run to the back side of the roof (so they did not have to see it when they drove in) when it should have run straight up.

Re: Furnace vent installation
Jerry,
The furnace was a replacement and they ran it to the existing hole in the roof. Nobody likes to make work do they. You can't see it in the picture but the end of the vent discharges below the roofline in the attic. Does it matter if there is a blower assist?

Re: Furnace vent installation
60% plus of the vent pipe should be verticle for any application and should NEVER slope downhill even with an inducer. It looks as though they were just lazy.
