    Default curb flasing at skylight

this is the botom edge of the skylight flashing. It looks like it should be under the shingles etc? those raised ridges at the bottom looked odd. Any thoughts?

The flashing should be under the shingles on the sides and top, and over the shingles on the bottom.

Looks like someone had previously glued shingles to the bottom to hide it and they came off (which is good that they came off).

The ridges, as you follow them around to the sides and up the sides, help channel and direct water to remain on the flashing and drain down and off the bottom, at the bottom of the flashing, those channels would have little effect in retaining the water from overflowing the channels and flowing off the bottom of the flashing (until someone glues on shingle tabs to keep the water in them ).

Bottom flashing should be exposed. Those plexi bubble skylights always leak over time. From the pics. this one already has (the sloppy patch work). Note to customer - it is unlikely that this skylight will not leak again.
