I perform inspections in the mountains and there is always a problem with nesting birds in the spring, they like flue piping. Every so often I come across flue pipes that have a 1/4" x 1/4" wire to keep bird/rodents out. Does anyone know of any requirements for bird screen at the exterior termination for the combustion air or exhaust flues whether vented throught he roof or sidewall? I have never come across any requirements, yet it seams like a good upgrade.

All insight is apppreciated.
