    Default More Job security

Not sure if this should go under plumbing or HVAC.

Have you ever seen a T&P drain line vented directly back into the condensate line of the cooling system?

What numb nut would do such a thing? The T&P drain line wrapped around back side of the water heater and made a direct shot back up the wall directly into the evaporator coil box. You can imagine the look when I seen water shoot of the condensate drain vent opening.

Also note: that looks like PVC, not CPVC. PVC is not allowed for that discharge line.

    T&P VALVE IS OPEN.
    IS THIS A WINTERIZED HOUSE?

    oops CAPS ON!!

I've had several call backs about the water heater not working when the buyers moved in the house. The water has been turned off and the electrical left on. The breaker was ON the the water heater.
New elements for the water heater.
I tell the buyers the life expectency of the water heater elements may be short.

    Randy,

    Home was occupied.

The T&P valve was opened during the test, and that is when water was observed draining from the primary condensate drain line.

Both the T&P drain line and the primary condensate was connected together with no lines to the exterior. Just looped together.
