    Default Filter Return

I know this has been discussed before but I could not find it. Inspected a ranch home with a crawl space (2002). The return passes through the floor and terminates in a wall filter box. There is a conductor that runs through the box. They sniped the flashing that seals the area for the penetration through the floor for the conductor. Is this allowed?

    Thanks

Mike - There is an electric cable running through the return? Like Romex? I believe that's only allowed if it's in a plenum-rated conduit, or maybe if the cable itself is plenum rated, which it probably isn't.
