    Default Tile flue in cleanout

Never seen this before. Tile flue inside exterior chimney cleanout door. Why? Kind of negates cleanout. No? Gas boiler and fireplace.

Yest, they never broke it open. Thats the support base for the rest. Till it all dries of course and then you bust out the bottom section and wallah. Dead Racoon HAHA

    Cool peekaboo!

Wayne, are you saying something is venting through this tile or is it just part of the ash dump gone wild?

A few more years and it will open itself up anyway.... pretty eroded.

If this is a flue, it must be called out. Need solid masonry around it per the codes.

Keep the fire in the fireplace.

This is pic of interior. Cleanout is on exterior . This means there is no cleanout. Why would they put in a cleanout door and extend flue past the door? Have you seen this before Bob?

David, no access behind the water heater means they have to put the cleanout, outside. right? So take the hammer you usually tap brokers heads with and break that flue liner section out to access the interior of the flue liner. Capeesh? Typically that goes along with the glass pane installed in the top flue liner section that dosen't get broken till the mason gets paid.
    No dough no flow. cappeesh?

Bob, you've never seen that before?
Mabey it's an east coast thing, I've seen it many times. Mabey just a shortcut to support the stack of liners, but i've seen that same as the pic and also broken open to allow access to cleanout.
