    Default Condensor Clearance

I cannot find the installation instructions for this Armstrong Concept 1000 compressor. Is there a general rule of thumb for clearance to the wall? It was about 3 inches away , and seemed too close to me.

Generally, 12" is the least clearance allowed, plus, not under roof water runoff.

Also, if the service access faces the wall, then 36" is required between the unit and the wall (to meet the minimum working space requirements).

You can ask them here http://www.armstrongair.com/contact.php, or call Lennox, 1-800-953-6669. That's the "customer care" number, but I've been able to get tech support numbers there in the past by explaining why I'm asking.

The one I had yesterday required 8"-- that's the least I have seen.
