Default Commercial Foundation vs Residential Foundation

Would it be fair to say that the foundations for residential and commercial structures or more or less built the same assuming monolithic , slab on grade foundations. Commercial foundations are just on a large scale.

    thanks,

More or less, yes ... if you are referring to one and two story commercial buildings of similar construction (i.e., wood frame or concrete block).

Get higher than 2-3 stories and the loads start changing, along with the types of construction and materials used.

Kind of like old houses in what are now business areas are now "commercial" structures (no longer "residential" structures, even though they were originally constructed as such).

Hey Jerry, don't forget the commercial ones that are now 40k sq ft homes.
